Frequently Asked Questions

How do I join?

Simply click on the Join/Renew button which will take you to an enrollment form powered by Cheddar Up. If you want a single membership, then select “Membership” and add it to your cart, filling the required information, and making a payment. If you are a household, then select your membership first and add it to the cart, then select a second membership for the other person and add it to the cart. The correct price will show in the cart after both memberships are added.

What does ENN consider a “household”?

A household consists of two adults ages 21 or older residing at a single address. If there are more than two adults at the address, contact [email protected] to join.

What does membership at ENN cost?

Current dues are $25 per year per person. Household dues are $40, a savings of $10.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards — Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover plus Apple Pay, Google Pay, and eChecks as well as physical checks. eChecks are a convenient way to pay simply by entering the routing and account numbers printed on your checks. Of course, if you want to mail in a physical check, that’s perfectly ok, too. You will still need to use Cheddar Up, fill out the forms online, and then at checkout indicate your preferred payment method.

How do I renew my membership?

The club’s member year runs from September 1 through August 31. Everyone renews at the same time. A reminder email will be sent to all members.
If you are a new member who has joined the club after March 1, then you will not have to renew until the following year. If you join sometime between September and February, you will still need to renew in September. The club does not have the systems in place to manage rolling memberships.
If you are not sure whether you need to renew or if you have already renewed, please do not hesitate to contact the membership chair at [email protected].

Why are there credit card fees?

Credit card companies have been increasing their fees and is a significant cost center for the club. The club passes these along to the member as many credit cards offer rebates to help make up the difference. You can avoid all fees by selecting the eCheck payment option at checkout or by paying by physical check.

What is included in membership?

Membership includes access to all of our happy hours, parties, and activity groups as well as receipt of a member directory to stay in touch with members you meet. You will receive occasional email alerts for upcoming social and volunteer events. You also have access to our members-only Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/EvergreenNNC

Does ENN have a Facebook page?

ENN would like to encourage all members to join and use the ENN Facebook Group.
The ENN Facebook page is not just for announcements. It can be used by all members to share what they or their activity groups have been up to. You can post pictures, summaries, links to community activities and events, and whatever you think might interest other ENN members. No political comments are allowed.
The Facebook Group is available for use by ENN members only and can be found here https://www.facebook.com/groups/EvergreenNNC. ENN group members can create posts and comment on other posts. Facebook users who are not members can see that the group exists but cannot see any content created by ENN members.
Request to join the group if you haven’t already! You do that right on the Evergreen Newcomers and Neighbors group page. Thereafter you will be able to add a post yourself and comment on other posts.

How do I contact others in the club?

You may contact them using the member directory you will be sent in the fall, provided you are not using it for commercial purposes which is strictly forbidden.

Why do I need to sign an indemnity waiver?

Despite best efforts, accidents happen and the indemnity waiver and club insurance helps protect your fellow members and the club from litigation.

How is my dues money spent?

Dues income is carefully managed to fund our parties, to pay for club insurance, to cover other fixed and administrative costs such as website hosting fees, email costs, and printing and advertising costs. All board members are volunteers and no one is recompensed for their time or expertise.

How long has ENN been in existence?

ENN was founded in 1961. It was the first social club in Evergreen and initially was for women only. They met once a month for a meeting, program, and lunch, followed by games of bridge.

How can I volunteer to help?

Contact [email protected] at any time if you are interested in a board position or if you would just like to help out at some of our events. If you are interested in starting an activity group, contact [email protected]. We’d love to hear from you!
